ABOUT
A Piece of Cake
As a designer, artist and all-around creative thinker, I am here to help you realize your vision whether it be through identity, print, web, event design, photography, writing or marketing. I take your ideas from concept to product.
I am an artist originally from sunny Los Angeles. At the University of California, Santa Barbara I first explored contemporary art, printmaking, book arts, cultural theory and web design, earning my B.A. in Studio Art and Global Studies.
In LA, I worked in the fashion industry and was on the creative team for Malibu Design Group, a swimwear company. A creative director for the marketing department, I oversaw the brand websites, advertising campaigns, catalog designs, and marketing strategies. Working closely with the design and art departments, I was also involved in the creative product design process researching trends and creating textile designs. My designs have been seen at Zumiez, Wet Seal, Limited Too, Kohl’s, Macys, JCPenney, Nordstrom’s, Tilly’s, Sears and swim boutiques around the world.
I spent a decade in the lush Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina studying folklife, craft, and traditional music and dance.
Currently I am based in Detroit, MI and I am a freelance media and design consultant for wide variety of clients including the John C. Campbell Folk School and Moving Forward Network.
When I am not designing or making art, I frequent 24-hr diners, play Scrabble®, enjoy natural history museums, pick on my banjo, shoot pin-up photography and take random road trips.
